THE BOOTS OF SUMMER

The National League final is done and dusted, Dublin in the winners enclosure for a fourth successive year and every thought is now turning to how can they be stopped from adding another All Ireland to their roll of honour.

There are so many questions to answer -can Cork rebound from their relegation horror and will Clare’s epic win give them the momentum to upset the big two before dark horses Tipperary get their much needed big win.

In the North are Tyrone ready to break the Donegal-Monaghan stranglehold on the Ulster crown?

In Leinster, can Meath, Kilare or Laois bolt from the pack and put to bed the negativity around the province by giving the Dubs a real challenge?

Will Roscommon build on their promising Spring campaign to dethrone Mayo?

But most importantly… who will be wearing the coolest boots of the summer? We here at Elverys Intersport are obsessed with football boots, and we’re on top of the game when it comes to what’s going on the field, and feet, of Ireland’s top GAA players in football and hurling. We have a huge range of the latest boots, and we will be keeping an eye on the goings on all summer long in the championship and on the soccer pitches of Europe and the US where the Copa100 is taking place.

Ronan McNamee stole a march (and rocked the TruSox) this weekened with the new Puma Tricks evoSPEED boots, the daring and striking new boots  that will be worn on pitch by Sergio Aguero for the rest of the season and Cesc Fabergas and co in the Euros. While the evoPOWER would possibly be more associated with the full back line, the lightweight evoSPEED boots clearly suited the perfect Croke Park surface and will no doubt be a favourite of the bold and brave in the summer months.

So which other boots will be gracing the pitches of Ireland during the championship campaign? We asked the Galway footballers and hurlers to drop in to our newly renovated store in Galway Retail Park recently and they were huge fans of the the latest offerings from the big two, Nike & adidas, especially.

There’s no doubt that the new Nike Radiant Reveal Pack and the adidas Ace 16.1 range  are big favourites of the Galway inter-county squad and other players throughout the country and we can expect to see some serious kicks hitting the fields of the provinces over the coming months!
